24th November 2001
Lea and I made the trip down to the Dobermann Club of Victoria's Specialty
show judged by Martyn Slade from NZ. We unfortunately did no good with
most of our exhibits but a great weekend was had by all. We always manage
to have fun at Specialties, win or lose. Shastah
was a very considerate girl by timing her ovulation to co-incide with
the show. We had already arranged to use the handsome "Riggs",
formally known as Gr. Ch. Walamara Jungle Beat. As it was, Riggs won
Challenge Dog, his son won Res. Chall, and then Riggs went on to win
Best In Show. Shastah seemed to be a very fitting reward for such a
win. Their union was consumated after the show :-) The next day at the
WAE, Riggs topped off his weekend by passing the test and obtaining
the title of WAC. Thanks to Brett and Linda for their wonderful hospitality
whilst I stayed at their beautiful home.
10th October 2001
In the early hours of this morning my father died. He was
taken into hospital about 3 weeks ago and had led a full and active
life up until then. His loss leaves a sad emptiness in our lives. He
was 87.
28th September 2001
Today Lyra, Ch. Jenson Strikes Back
whelped for us a beautiful litter of 4 bitches and 2 dogs. All are black
and rust. Unfortunately we lost one of the bitches at birth. The proud
sire is Ch. Jenson Wise Guy. Mum and pups doing
well. Unfortunately the timing of this litter made it impossible for
us to attend the Dobe Show of the ACT.

Today is our 10th Wedding Anniversary!!!!
4 August 2001
Some bad news - Ch. Jenson Sweet Ecstasy -"Eckie" has died.
Eckie was well known for scrounging around the NSW Dobermann Club Specialty
after show function (once with her nails painted gold). She turned 10
in April so we expected much more of her company. While Eckie was shown
to her title, she did not consider herself a show dog - much preferring
to stay in bed whenever the other dogs were getting excited about going
out. In her first litter she produced Ch. Jenson
Chelsea Bun and Jenson Sacher Torte CDX. In her second litter, which
was an artificial insemination, she produced two puppies - Gr.
Ch. Jenson Thunderstruck and Ch. Jenson Distant Thunder - both Best
in Show winners. She lived in the house, slept next to our bed and followed
us everywhere we went around the garden. She will be very sadly missed.
28 July 2001
Off to Adelaide for the South Australian Specialty and Marion Club double
all breeds shows. Some highlights were -
Marion (Saturday)
South Australian Dobermann Club
Marion (Sunday)
Thanks to Jeni Matthews for her wonderful hospitality. It was great
catching up with the Adelaide residents and also those who travelled
interstate for the shows.
Andrew's Axel/Jade pups from his first litter did extremely well again
this weekend winning Classes in Show at both All Breeds and Specialty.
While we were there we mated the beautiful Lyra- Ch Jenson Strikes
Back to the handsome Axel- Ch Jenson Wise Guy. The timimg of the mating
was made very convenient for us by Lyra. Good girl!
7 July 2001
Shastah had two pups (one male and one female)
by caesarian. We were concerned that after previous litters of 13 and
14 pups, only 2 pups might not get her body into action so we took the
safe path for all and had the caesar. All are doing well. More
info.
