Jennifer Hughes
Hi.
My name is Jennifer Hughes. I have always loved animals and in my youth was, much to my parent's dismay, always
bringing home stray dogs (and one stray horse). My mother had a serious green thumb and our house had inadequate
fencing so no dogs were ever allowed. My frustrations at not owning a dog had to wait until I owned my very own
mortgage on a suitable backyard. This came in 1979 when my sister's friend had an older bitch looking for a good
home. This, I would say was "the beginning of the end" of life as I had known it. The rest is history. Obedience,
another dog, showing, another bitch, breeding, etc.. They are very addictive! We have now finished our time as breeders
due mainly to the ban on tail docking and also as we have four Dobes that run our lives sufficently enough to not
need another!
Michael Hughes
Hi, I'm Michael. I am a computer programmer and Web designer. I first
met Jenny when I was looking to purchase a puppy. Now I can often be
seen at dog shows fetching, carrying, preparing dogs and diligently
looking after my wife's every desire. At home I specialise in fetching,
carrying, picking up after the dogs and looking after my wife's every
desire (unless the fish are biting).
I grew up in Armidale, NSW and am still a country boy at heart. We both
enjoy travelling to country shows and having a chance to see new places
in this wonderful country.
At the moment we live in a wonderful part of the world called Utungun on the mid north coast of NSW, halfway between
Sydney and Brisbane. It is a place of rolling green hills grazed by inquisitive dairy cows and wallabies. The views
are magnificent and there's plenty of room for the dogs and us to spread out. When conditions are right I get to
go fishing and I do it because I love being out on the water enjoying the great outdoors.
